1992 Dodge Epic Concept

Dodge EPIC

The EPIC is a Dodge concept car created by DaimlerChrysler under the Dodge brand. The EPIC was shown at the 1992 North American International Auto Show. EPIC means Electricity Inter-Urban Commuter. It was the first hybrid minivan.

Engine & Design

The EPIC uses an I4 engine, which is fed by an emission-free power. The features of the nickel-iron batteries can provide up to 120 miles on a single charge. The EPIC uses a four-speed automatic transmission. The design was the most futuristic. Unlike any other minivan, EPIC was the modern oval-shaped body, which was not adapted to the production of minivans until three years later. This vehicle was also one of the first signs of hybrid vehicles.
